Carbon Content

Definition

Carbon content of zooplankton organism determined for microzooplankton indirectly by converting the individual organism biovolume into carbon using empirically or theoretically derived equations and for meso and macrozooplankton by direct analysis of individual organisms or bulk community at the CHN elemental analyser by using  fresh, fresh frozen and fresh dried samples.
